Dr. Alexandra Kouroutaki is a member of Specialized Lab and Teaching personnel at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete. She holds a doctorate in Art History from the University of Bordeaux Montaigne and a Postgraduate Diploma in French Literature from the School of Humanities of the Hellenic Open University. She is an honours graduate of the Department of French Language and Literature of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is an honours graduated from the Hellenic Conservatory of Athens (1995), with a degree in Piano.

She is currently assigned the courses "History of Culture" and "Art and Technology" at the School of ECE TUC. Σhe was assigned the Lab. and theory section of the courses "History of Art and Theory of Culture" and “Special topics in Art History” at the School of Architecture TUC (2018-2023). Prior to the Technical University of Crete, she had been teaching "History of Technology" and "French language" courses at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete - Branch of Chania, Department of Electronics and Department of Natural Resources and Environment (2004-2008). She had been teaching French language in the Secondary Education of the Prefecture of Chania (2002-2017). She was the Scientific Supervisor of the Experimental Educational Program “E.R.M.I.S” "Educational Research of Multimedia Integration in Schools", no. 63, (SEEPPE) for Foreign Languages, Ministry of Education - Pedagogical Institute (1998-2001).

She has written a monograph on the Naïf painting of Thalia Kalliyannis, published by the Municipal Gallery of Chania and the Municipality of Platanias. She is the main author of the book "The visual spring in Chania in the 1960s-1990s. The case of Giorgos Kounalis", published by the Region of Crete - Regional Unit of Chania.

She is the author of peer-reviewed papers on scientific magazines, chapters in collective volumes, as well as articles published in English--speaking and French-speaking platforms "GREEK NEWS AGENDA" and "GRECE HEBDO" of the Secretariat General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has given lectures on Art History at Academic Institutions and Cultural Centers in Greece and abroad.

She is the scientific supervisor of the Educational Programme "Byzantine painting. Theory and techniques A`. Beginner's section" and "Byzantine painting. Theory and techniques B`. Advanced section" of the KEDIVIM (Lifelong Learning Center ) TUC.

She is an art curator, member of the "Association of Greek Art Historians" (E.E.I.T.) and the "Greek and International Association of Art Critics" (AICA Hellas & AICA International). She was member of the Board (Secretary: 2021, and Treasurer: 2021-2023) of the "Historical, Folklore and Archaeological Society of Crete" (I.L.A.E.K.).

Her research interests focus mainly on the fields of Art Histoty, Neo Hellenic Art History, Religious Painting, Aesthetic and Philosophy issues.
