Top Scientists in Greece, according to Research.com

This year, the ranking includes seven (7) Professors of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Technical University of Crete (TUC).

The 11th edition of top scientists ranking was published by Research.com, one of the major websites for research offering credible data on scientific contributions since 2014. The ranking contains D-index and publication and citation numbers, data that were collected on November 27, 2024.

This year, the ranking includes seven (7) Professors of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Technical University of Crete (TUC).

Computer Science

In Computer Science, the list includes four (4) Professors of the School of ECE of TUC.

  1. No 3 in Greece: Professor Minos Garofalakis (D-index 74, 19781 citations, 291 publications).
  2. No 31 in Greece: Professor Sotiris Ioannidis (D-index 48, 9532 citations, 256 publications).
  3. No 57 in Greece: Professor Thrasyvoulos Spyropoulos (D-index 40, 13695 citations, 162 publications).
  4. No 66 in Greece: Associate Professor Evangelos Kalogerakis (D-index 38, 10960 citations, 80 publications).

Also, Stavros Christodoulakis, Emeritus Professor of the School of ECE of TUC, is ranked 93rd in Greece, with a D-index of 34, 5790 citations to his work, and 188 publications.

Note that Professors Spyropoulos and Kalogerakis appear with affiliations of foreign institutions, where they worked before recently joining TUC.

Electronics and Electrical Engineering

In Electronics and Electrical Engineering, the list includes two (2) Professors of the School of ECE of TUC.

  1. No 34 in Greece: Professor Aggelos Bletsas (D-index 33, 9044 citations, 146 publications).
  2. No 38 in Greece: Professor Eftichios Koutroulis (D-index 31, 8468 citations, 116 publications).

Note that Professor Bletsas appears with affiliation to a foreign institution, where he currently works on leave from TUC.
