Michail Pitsikalis, PhD Candidate of the School of ECE at TUC, receives the IEEE EEEIC 2025 Best PhD Poster Presentation Award

Michail Pitsikalis, PhD Candidate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Technical University of Crete (TUC), received the Best PhD Poster Presentation Award, supported by ABB, at the IEEE EEEIC 2025 - International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, held in Chania, Greece.

The award was given for his research work entitled “Field Measurements and ATP EMTP Simulations of Current Asymmetry and Harmonics in Cross-Bonded MV Cable Systems.”

The research was conducted under the supervision of Georgios Peppas, Assistant Professor of the School of ECE of TUC, and carried out in collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Patras, and the companies Raycap SA and TERNA ENERGY SA

The work focuses on field measurements and ATP EMTP simulations for the analysis of current asymmetry and harmonics in medium-voltage systems with cross-bonded cables, combining theoretical models with real-world operational data for a deeper understanding of system behavior.

Further details on the award are available at the official link of ABB
