Brief presentation of the teaching and research activities of the candidate faculty member of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Abstract
The talk will provide a concise overview of the teaching and research activities of the candidate faculty member Dr. E Pompodakis. It will mainly focus on the core research directions that he has pursued during his doctoral studies and postdoctoral work. Key findings from selected scientific publications will be discussed in the following areas:
(a) modelling of electric power systems,
(b) optimisation of power system operation,
(c) power system protection, and
(d) applications of power electronics in electric power systems.
About the Speaker
Evangelos E. Pompodakis received the Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessalonik, Greece, in 2011, the M.Sc. degree from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2021. His research interests include electric power systems, distributed generation and energy storage, power electronic converters, as well as smart grid operation and control. He has authored 31 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and 12 conference papers, serving as first (lead) author in the majority of them. Since 2021, he has been a Lecturer at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Greece.
