International distinction for TUC ECE PhD candidate

The PhD candidate of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Technical University of Crete Michail Pitsikalis was awarded the Best Presentation Award at the 2025 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting in Taipei City, Taiwan.

The award recognizes his research work on enhanced dielectric nanofluids for applications in electric power systems, conducted within the framework of the research project NEUROSES (HFRI: 23389 Nanofluid-based insulation for electric power systems), carried out in collaboration with (M. Pitsikalis’ supervisor) Assistant Professor Georgios Peppas of the School of ECE, Technical University of Crete, and Associate Professor Thomas Tsovilis of the School of ECE, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The research project was supported by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) under the “3rd Call for H.F.R.I. Research projects to support Faculty Members and Researchers” (project number: 23389).
