0ab8225105a301f9e\nAbstract\n In thi
s talk, we will cover a wide variety
 of Knowledge Management aspects, us
ing the latest advances in Artificia
l Intelligence. Those aspects includ
e the representation of data in the
form of knowledge graphs (KGs) using
 ontologies, the integration of data
 originating from disparate sources,
as well as the enrichment of relati
onal data with the use of external K
Gs, in order to serve more questions
. A large part of the talk will be d
evoted to providing natural language
 interfaces to data, exploiting the
rich semantics offered by KGs. Apart
from a theoretical approach, the ta
lk will also cover real applications
 of those methodologies in industria
l products.\n About the speaker\n Va
silis Efthymiou is a postdoctoral re
searcher at Information Systems Labo
ratory of FORTH-ICS, leading a proje
ct on responsible entity resolution,
and a visiting lecturer at the Comp
uter Science Department of Universit
y of Crete, teaching advanced databa
se topics, information systems, as w
ell as knowledge representation and
reasoning. Before joining FORTH, he
was a postdoctoral researcher at the
database group of IBM Research in A
lmaden Research Center, CA, USA, wor
king on data management and AI, for
providing natural language interface
s to data. He received his PhD from
the Computer Science Department of U
niversity of Crete for research on e
ntity resolution in the Web of Data.
After his research internship at IB
M T.J. Watson Research Center, NY, U
SA, on matching Web tables to Knowle
dge Graphs, he has joined forces wit
h researchers from IBM Research, Oxf
ord University and City University o
f London to co-organize the SemTab c
hallenges: an effort to benchmark sy
stems dealing with the tabular data
to KG matching problem, so as to fac
ilitate their comparison on the same
basis and the reproducibility of th
e results. He has co-authored two bo
oks, more than 40 peer-reviewed pape
rs, and co-invented four US patents.
He will be the co-chair of VLDB 202
3 PhD Workshop and of ESWC 2023 Post
ers & Demos.\n
