 ld. However, our experience in evalu
 ating mobile systems in the wild has
  shown that the deployed legacy arch
 itectures cannot accommodate disrupt
 ive applications such VR/AR or auton
 omous cars. Next generation applicat
 ions require novel connectivity and 
 security paradigms, new system archi
 tectures, edge network management an
 d analytics. In this talk, Yiannis w
 ill give an overview of his work on 
 designing, implementing and deployin
 g mobile systems for next generation
  applications, used by millions of u
 sers worldwide.\n About the speaker\
 n Yiannis Pefkianakis is currently a
  Wireless Architect at Apple, Cupert
 ino CA. Before Apple, Yiannis was a 
 research scientist at HP Labs in Pal
 o Alto CA, and Technicolor Labs, in 
 Paris. He completed his Ph.D. in Com
 puter Science at the University of C
 alifornia Los Angeles (UCLA), in 201
 2. Yiannis’ research interests span 
 the area of networked systems with a
 n emphasis on wireless networking an
 d mobile computing. Yiannis has publ
 ished multiple papers at top-tier ve
 nues. He has filed 30+ patents and h
 is work has been productized by majo
 r companies such as HP and Apple.\n
